Are you ready for a horror LARP in the footsteps of Lovecraft?
The salty smell of the sea is in the air as you slowly stroll through the alleys of Innsmouth, the suspicious looks of the locals in your neck. Did you know what you were getting yourself into when you boarded the rickety bus to the semi-deserted town at the Manuxet? Something’s not right here, though you can’t quite put your finger on what it is. But at least you’re not alone. Others are stranded here, too. With destinations as foggy as Innsmouth’s dilapidated building facades. Will you find friends among them or will they become enemies? Will the locals be sympathetic towards you, or are the rumors of disturbing rituals that keep all strangers away true? One thing’s for sure, you’ll find out… but will your mind be able to handle the truth?
Concept
„Mists of Innsmouth“ from November 17th till 19th 2023 is a blockbuster event inspired by Lovecraft`s short story „The Shadow Over Innsmouth“. It trifles with the fear of the unknown and the cosmic horror, while players try to get to the bottom of the mysteries of the seaport of Innsmouth. To achieve perfect immersion, we will use various mechanisms of LARP (Live Action Role Playing). During the event, all players slip into different roles, some of which consist of the inhabitants of Innsmouth with their dark secrets and some of which consist of newcomers with very different motivations. „Madness“ will be an important element throughout the game while drama and confrontation with one’s fears will be in the foreground. With all this said, “Mists of Innsmouth“ is not a game that can be won.

Location
“Mists of Innsmouth“ is a LARP that takes place in our 1920s backdrop at the Eloria Erlebnisfabrik in Bottrop, Germany. For this Lovecraft LARP we will transform the vibrant metropolis into a run-down seaport. In addition, we will use other game locations that players of „EXPLORIA – Roaring Twenties“ will not know yet.
Overnight stay & catering
Accommodations are not included within the ticket. We recommend nearby hotels such as Ramada by Wyndham or Rhein Ruhr . Catering is included during the event, dietary requirements (e.g. vegetarian or allergies) will be taken into account if possible.
More information about the game
Our team is currently hardworking on the Player’s Guide and recommendations for costumes. As soon as these are ready, we will make them available for downloading.
What role will I play?
In “Mists of Innsmouth“, there will be a variety of unique roles with different ambitions and stages of sanity. There will be an online role casting to ensure you receive a role you will enjoy. This means after purchasing a ticket you will receive a link to the questionnaire. After it`s evaluation, we will send out the first roles. You will have enough time to prepare and clarify any possible questions with our customer support [explorialarp@eloria.de] previously to the game.
